Growing People not just plants
Every great community project starts with people who care. We're inviting local residents, schools, businesses and community groups to help shape Black Sands from the very beginning.
Whether you have an idea for a project, want to volunteer or simply believe in what we're trying to achieve, your voice matters.
Meet the Founder
After serving in the British Army and spending many years supporting people through complex challenges in social care and rehabilitation, I wanted to create something different. BlackSands was born from a belief that nature can improve wellbeing, build confidence and bring communities together."

Nature at School
We bring nature into the classroom through engaging, hands-on educational sessions that inspire children to explore the world around them. From solitary bees and pollinators to school gardens and biodiversity, our aim is to help the next generation learn, protect and connect with nature in a fun and memorable way.
Community Wellbeing
Outdoor activities and support groups that reconnect people with nature, reduce isolation, and improve mental health.

Conservation Projects
At BlackSands Nature & Wellbeing CIC, we believe everyone can play a part in protecting our environment. Our conservation projects bring people together to improve local green spaces, create habitats for wildlife and inspire positive action within the community.
Our vision includes:
- 🐝 Creating pollinator-friendly habitats and wildflower meadows.
- 🌼 Installing solitary bee hotels and insect habitats.
- 🌳 Planting trees, shrubs and native wildflowers.
- 🥕 Developing school and community gardens.
- 🌿 Supporting biodiversity across Southport.
- 🤝 Community volunteer conservation days.
- 📚 Educating people about the importance of protecting our natural world.
Recovery & Resilience
BlackSands Recovery & Resilience is a welcoming community programme that supports people who want to make positive, lasting changes in their lives. Our sessions combine evidence-based tools, practical life skills, peer support and nature-based wellbeing to help participants build confidence, resilience and healthier futures.
Using principles from SMART Recovery alongside cognitive and self-management techniques, participants will learn practical strategies to strengthen motivation, manage difficult emotions and create meaningful lives.
